If the film-making world had any doubt about making superhero movies with African backstories or with African lead actors and actresses, then the buzz and figures over the last couple of days should be enough to dispel them. African stories are a big deal and have a humongous market.

And for those who’ve been swept into to the world of Wakanda, there’s plenty more tales and stories where that came from. We’ve shortlisted 10 other dope stories of African origin and comics created by studios based across the continent that we feel you’ll love if you really dig Black Panther.

This is by no means an exhaustive list. We’ll be posting more lists of novels and novellas soon and some concept and unpublished characters too.
