First off, we’d like to thank our partners @IAmRenike (Morenike Olusanya), KumaNation and 02 Academy, you guys have been gracious and absolutely supportive of this movement of ours. Gratitude also to ALL our ArtBeat Judges, (Tonia Nneji, Ini Itama, Mohammed Agbadi, Anthony Ezeokoye, Tochukwu Udegbunam, Tunde Abisoye and Collyde Prime) You guys took out time from your busy schedules to grade, assess and score the amazing artworks selected for the ArtBeat Top 30.
So down to the big news.
The winner of the second #FarabaleArtBeat Challenge and the subsequent winner of a N200k cash prize would be selected based on a 50-50 basis, aka 50% fan voting and 50% judges voting. Fan voting commenced on the site 26th July and ended this week on the 2nd August 2017. Judges voting held last weekend 29th August at the Farabale HQ and we had 8 Judges voting on 30 finalists. Judges were required to score an artwork points between 0-10 (i.e. 0%-100%). Percentage score from both sessions were then added up and an average was calculated.
Based on this and from our calculations, it appears FATOLA ISREAL has emerged as the overall winner of the #FarabaleArtBeat 2.0 contest with an overall average score of 51%. First and second runner ups are OLADEJO KAZEEM (48%) and VINCENT OBINKA (47.5%) respectively.
We want to congratulate the winners and all the finalists for not only participating in this contest but for also being such great ambassadors for the Nigerian art scene. Details on prizes and presentation will be posted shortly.
