Nigerian Jollof Crowned King Of African Jollof Rice

Let me see your hands up if you are in love with Nigerian Jollof!!!! The awesome piece of Nigerian deliciousness was crowned the King of African Jollof rice at a recently held Jollof Hackathon which took place in Washington DC, United States.

Teams of 2-3 people representing African countries like Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Sierra Leone, Liberia competed for which country has the best Jollof Rice. About 600 people then went through a blind tasting to decide the winner.

Each finalist was given five minutes to present their dish to the judges who based their decisions on participants’ presentation, taste, and originality. Ms Atinuke Ogunsalu, of Queensway Resaurant and Catering, Maryland, represented Nigeria and won the Jollof Hackathon – as expected. She was rewarded with the sum of US$1000 and the role of chef at Jollof Caviar, an upcoming African fusion Restaurant launching in Washington in 2 years.


HBO Options Nnedi Okafor’s Fantasy Novel

Nigerian Fantasy/Science fiction writer, Nnedi Okafor recently announced that her critically acclaimed novel ‘Who Fears Death’ has been optioned by HBO that means HBO is going to be making the book into a TV series and what makes this more exciting is the fact that Game of Thrones author George R.R Martins is going to be the executive director of the TV series

MUSON Diploma Students Graduate In Two Day Graduation Ceremony

The foremost music school in Nigeria, the MUSON School of music had a 2 day event to celebrate the graduation ceremony of her students. The event started on the Friday 7th of June 2017 with a graduation concert where guests were treated to performances by outstanding graduating students and the award winning MUSON Diploma Choir.

Monday the 10th of July 2017 saw the 2nd part of the graduation ceremony with the graduating students getting their certificates and award prizes given out to the best students among the graduands. Present at the event included the director of MUSON Mrs Marion Akpata, and assistant director Mrs Edna Soyanwo as well as guest speaker  Mr Dennis Okoro.


Alex Osho Live In Concert Holds Audiences Spell Bound

Alex Osho was live in concert on Friday the 7th of July 2017 at the Freedom Park, Lagos State. The event which featured Alex Osho and his Root Entertainment Band also featured performances from Wura Samba, Ajuka, Sunny Nneji, Eda Oto and a whole lot more.
