Roll Call: Who’s Who Of Who’s Going To Be At The First Ever Comic Connect Africa

There’s been a lot of buzz about Comic Connect Africa and throughout this week, the organizers have been making announcements about the ground-breaking event coming up next week Saturday 4th March 2017 at Freedom Park, Lagos.

Nestled into the Lagos Theater Festival, Comic Connect which is the first of its kind in Nigeria will feature some kickass names in the creative space. Here’s a list of the guys and girls we’re looking forward to connect with come Saturday.

Dj Sose


The tattoo faced Dj has one of the baddest faces in the game. Thomas Amar-Aigbe born in Ibadan (what??!!!) to an Hungarian mother and a father who hails from Edo state is recognizable and will he be on the decks on the day? Guess you’ll have to be there to find out.

Adaora Mbelu Dania


Fine face. Even finer brains. Adaora Mbelu-Dania, founder of A2 creative group a media, communications and technology company based in Lagos, always has positive knowledge to share. The creative industrialist and strategist has worked with top-notch agencies and brands varying projects. Adaora has been named in the Top 30 Under 30 in Nigeria, 100 Most Influential Women in Nigeria, and recently in Entrepreneur Magazines “11 African Entrepreneurs that are changing the business landscape.” Connect at will. 

Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade


Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade is communications and PR manager for Google, west Africa. He has Developed strategic initiatives via an identification of deep insights around the shopping behavior, by product category of identified target groups. Work closely with the client teams, and the Strategy team on various initiatives such as exploring new business options, strengthening and innovating existing businesses. At the comic connect he’ll be speaking about using technology to boost your creativity and using google as an effective tool to boost your business.



Ceracerni has been a painter for quite sometime and she does a really fantastic job. The creative artist, Sarah Sanni has been managing the Cera Cerni Company which has had the opportunity to give facelifts to houses, salons, schools poolside of hotels, offices and game houses in the Lagos Island suburb. CeraCerni intends to capitalize on the success of this industry by taking advantage of wall design opportunities in Lagos Island and farther.

Niyi Akinmolayan


Niyi Akinmolayan, founder and creative director of Anthill studios the animation studio that took the world by storm will be sharing his ideas on skill at the upcoming comic connect Africa. The movie director is one who loves to see possibilities in art and technology and yeah his studio was behind one of the biggest anime sequences out of Naija recently. Find out more at ComicConnect.

Martin Avwenagha


Allow us re-introduce to you the doodle overlord Martin Avwenegha who goes by Ufo South on social media. Walls, Ceilings, in fact any surface isn’t safe where this guy is concerned.  The playful imaginative artist will be feeding your eyes to some live art at the event.

Ibrahim Ganiyu


The lead animator behind Lagbaja’s ‘Surulere’ animated music video (2003), he did Set Design and concepts for Akinwunmi Ambode Inauguration Ball in (2015), motion graphics Illustrations for Heineken Video Advert (2014) and a lot more fantastic projects. He is a graphic designer who graduated from the Yaba College of Technology, Lagos. Presently, Ibrahim runs a communications design company ‘Imperial Creations Studios Limited’ (ICStudios) as CEO and Executive Creative Director. He is the creator of the ‘June 12’ comic and has achieved so much, we can’t even mention all. His core strength is his creative mind channeled most times through illustrations, animations, Graphics & Design and through comics.

Peter Daniel


CEO Peda Studio and creator of New Born Saga Peter Daniel. He has had quite an experience in the creative space and will have a lot share.

Comic Connect Africa is actually brought to you by Comic republic. They are creators of African superhero comic books. They have loads of surprises at the upcoming comic convention. We can’t keep calm but we need to wait for it.
