Bet9JA Own The Streets As Kiptum Retains Access Bank Lagos City Marathon Title

Lagos, Nigeria: Saturday 11th of February, over 55,000 local and foreign runners and 30 Wheelchair athletes participated in the just concluded 2017 edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon brought to you by Bet9ja.

Chairman of Bet9ja, the official Bookmaker of Access Bank Lagos City Marathon Hon Kunle Soname expressed delight with the turn out of the Marathon.

β€œNigerians are passionate about their country and everyone knows Lagosians are proud of their city. The massive turnout today is proof of this passion and Bet9ja is honored to be part of such a great event.”

Kenyan marathoner, Abraham Kiptum, for the second consecutive time emerged winner of the 2017 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.
Kiptum hit the finish line in 2:15:20 seconds, ahead of his compatriots, Ronny Kipkoech Riboss and Kiroi Kiprotic, who returned 2:15:25secs and 2:15:28secs respectively.
For the women, Kenya’s Rodah Tanui breasted the tape in 2:37:50secs, while Fridah Lodepa and Alice Tambilili, also from Kenya, finished in 2:38:21secs and 2:39:02secs respectively.
Total prize money of $370,000, made up of $185,000 for the male athletes and $185,000 for female athletes, was up for grab.

Those in the Wheelchair category pocketed N1,000,000, N750,000 and N500,000 respectively.

A seven-year-old, Damilola Oluwaseun, became the spotlight of the Marathon when she completed 10km of the 42km race.

Oluwaseun, who joined the race at the 32km point, which is at the end of Lekki Bridge, said she was elated to have ran 10km.

The next Access Bank Lagos City Marathon holds on the 10th of February 2018. Will you be there to Own The Streets?
