11th of February, 2017 at exactly 7:00am, Lagos played host to over total of 100,000 athletes from 27 countries including Nigeria converged at the National stadium, Surulere to participate in the second edition of the Lagos City Marathon. The aim of the event is to showcase exploit the tourism potential of Lagos.
Lagosians came out en masse, with their cameras and selfie sticks and the internet was full of photos from the day long event.
Lightening does strikes twice after all as Kenya’s Abraham Kiptum has emerged winner of the 2017 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon and will be going home with the cash prize of $50,000.
