4 Questions With ‘Farabale ArtBeat 100’ Feature Mumu Illustrator

Etubi G.J. Onucheyo is an illustrator who goes by the name ‘mumu illustrator’ on Instagram. One of his illustrations was recently featured in the ArtBeat 100 digital magazine (Download here)

We were able to ask him a few questions;

1. Tell us about yourself?

My name is Etubi G.J. Onucheyo, my good friends call me ‘tubs’ some random dudes call me ‘mumu’ or ‘mumu illustrator’ and family switch between ‘erus’ or ‘yaro’ *coughs*. I am from kogi state but I grew up in the north so I speak hausa and wouldn’t be seen speaking igala. Did my first degree in the University of Nigeria Nsukka but I am currently based in Abuja.

2. Tell us a bit about your art entry for Farabale ArtBeat Challenge?

actually a promotional piece for my comic “mumu juju” which is quite fast paced, wanted to put my characters in a position of rest for a change of pace.
