Legendary Nigerian musician/songwriter King Sunny Ade has been invited to perform at this year’s Coachella music and arts festival at the Empire Polo club in Indio, California, USA.
Amongst artist billed to perform at the festival include the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, Beyonce, DJ Khaled, DJ Snake, Tory Lanes, Bon Iver, Radiohead and many more.
The event is slated to kick off on the 14th of April and come to a conclusion on the 23rd of April – The event will be held on two weekends, 14th-16th April and 21st – 23rd April.
The 70-year old Juju musician will be looking forward to serenading the crowd at the Empire Polo Club come April.
The Coachella co-founded by Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen in 1999, and is organised by Goldenvoice, a subsidiary of AEG Live as of 2001. The event features many genres of music, including rock, indie, hip-hop, and electronic dance music, as well as art installations and sculptures. Across the grounds, several stages continuously host live music.
King Sunny Ade will perform on the Sundays of April 16 and 23, 2017.
