5 Nollywood Movies To Anticipate In 2017

2016 was a very competitive year for Nigerian films. Every film strived to be memorable and most of them were successful. Cinema lovers enjoyed a sparkling year and 2017 promises more of that.

We have seen some film trailers of films slated for a 2017 release and we are already saving up for a weekend visit to the cinema. Here are our top five films to anticipate in 2017.

 

SOMETHING WICKED

Anticipated for release in 2017, “Something Wicked – Premonition”  is director Yemi Morafa’s first project since 2013’s ‘the spotlight’ and ‘the 2nd coming’.

MADAM PRESIDENT

Madam President is set in Ghana and follows a series of politically-charged events that are caused by the death of the country’s president.

Starring Ireti Doyle in lead role, the movie will also feature Fritz Baffour from Ghana as the character President Edward Mensah of Ghana.

The film is written and produced by Patrick Doyle, who is also a co-director. The supporting cast is filled with strong actors like Deyemi OkanlawonTaiwo Ajai-LycettKalu Ikeagwu and a bunch of others – enough to raise our expectations considerably.

LOTANNA

The trailer for Toka Mcbaror’s upcoming movie, ‘Lotanna’ is here and it promises a never-before experience.

From the stables of Ifan Ifeanyi Michael Production. The stylist introduces his highly anticipated movie “Lotanna” which was directed by Toka Mcbaror with the screenplay written by the award-winning Kemi Adesoye.

“Lotanna” stars Liz Benson Ameye, Jide Kososko, Chris Attoh, Chris Okagbue, Keturah King, Victor Olaotan, Meg Otanwa, Ama K. Abebrese, Henry Adofo and introducing Raymond Lorkohol.

DESECRATION

Desecration tells the story of married Dr Olusola Daniel who meets and falls in lust with beautiful Linda Bruce.

Olusola thinks he can walk away from the affair whenever he likes but Linda is not a woman that can be ignored because she wants the relationship to continue.

OJUKOKORO

Ojukokoro tells the story of a money-strapped manager of a money laundering petrol station who decides to rob the petrol station that employs him but along his journey finds out that there are many different kinds of criminal and that a good reason isn’t always a right one.
