It’s been 5 weeks since we started on this journey and it’s been loads of fun (and work!) for us and for all our finalists. Our immense gratitude and appreciation to Collyde Prime, Awonda Comics, Vortex Inc and Comic Republic for being such great partners during this exciting period. To the artists, illustrators, individuals and online media platforms who supported us, we say a humongous thank you!
As earlier publicized, the winner of the #FarabaleArtBeat Challenge and the subsequent winner of a N100k cash prize would be selected based on a 50-50 basis, aka 50% fan voting and 50% judges voting. Fan voting commenced on the site a week ago (29th September) and ended this week (6th October). Judges voting held last weekend (1st October) at the Farabale HQ and we had 6 Judges voting on 30 finalists. Judges were required to score an artwork points between 0-10 (i.e. 0%-100%). Percentage score from both sessions were then added up and an average was calculated.
Based on this and from our calculations, it appears Okechukwu Chukwudifu has emerged as the overall winner of the #Farabale ArtBeat contest with an overall average score of 58%. First and second runner ups are Awurumibe Michael Dubby (55%) and Elnathan Clifford (53%) respectively.
We want to congratulate the winners and all the finalists for not only participating in this contest but for also being such great ambassadors for the Nigerian art scene. Details on prizes and presentation will be posted shortly.
