The last 5 years in the local comic scene has been the most active. With various indigenous comic publishing outfits springing up with their own collection of exciting stories. We recently caught up with one of such, Vortex Comics, who’s latest comic issue, The Eternals, (an epic tale about African gods) was recently published online. Somto Ajuluchukwu believes the best thing we can offer the world as Africans is our culture.
“Sharing who we really are and not a perception is also a means of registering our identity as Africans to a young generation and the ones in diaspora as well.”
This week, Vortex Comics is officially launched the VEXPO a series of events tailored for comic lovers and industry people. VEXPO is a 5-day event that will involve Creative skill sessions for children, an industry hangout and then to cap it all off a theatre adaptation of Vortex latest releases. ‘Eternals’ taking place at Unilag.
