FarabaleWeekly, an online platform dedicated to celebrating African creativity and innovation will be giving away a cash prize of N100k and other thrilling prizes in the maiden edition of #FarabaleArtBeat – an initiative developed solely to discover, nurture, reward and promote artistic talent among young Nigerians.
#FarabaleArtBeat challenge will happen once every quarter and each contest will focus on a single and specific creative field – photography, modelling, make-up, acting, dance, graphic art and so on.
For the first edition, the subject matter is the art of Illustration and as such we are excited to announce that one of Nigeria’s foremost illustrators Dapo Adesugba better known in the Graffiti Art world as ‘Collyde Prime’ is our Lead Partner!
Collyde’s creative resume spans across various fields such as comics, graphic art, graffiti, fashion, music and movies and we believe his body of work will influence our young target audience positively.
“As an African artist, I know the struggles and realities of trying to put your work out there. That’s why it was an easy decision to collaborate with the #FarabaleArtBeat initiative because it’s a perfect platform to discover new and fresh creative artists and give them the much needed support.”
According to Olaseinde Alex-Oni, Creative Content Director at FarabaleWeekly:
“The Nigerian creative space is full of vastly talented guys who don’t have enough platforms to showcase their work and that’s what the Farabale brand is all about, celebrating the very core of African creativity. #FarabaleArtbeat is the first of many initiatives we’re launching this year to fix this and we’re really excited about what the outcome will be.”
Call for entries for the maiden #FarabaleArtBeat will commence on the 1st of September 2016 and participation is completely FREE.
